Firstly, thank you all for attending the first meeting of the West Sussex Cycle Stakeholders Group back on14th December last year. It is now 4 months since we last met and it is time we meet again to share with you the work that has been continuing here, as well as ask you all to provide your input to cycling matters across the county.

I propose the next meeting is held some time during the last week of April (25th, 26th, 27th or 28th) or the first week of May (3rd, 4th or 5th). I will be contacting you all again in the next few days to organise a date and decide on a venue, so please check your diaries prior to my call. After a date and venue are set I will post out agandas and other relevant papers.

In the meantime I am attaching a couple of documents. Firstly, a sheet showing your combined feedback following our first meeting, which has been useful to us in assessing the success of the first meeting, and picking up what you like to see covered in future sessions. We will be discussing this at the next meeting and would welcome any further feedback you may choose to send through.

Secondly, as was discussed in our first meeting, the County Council are currently consulting and developing the West Sussex Transport Plan, which is being completed during autumn 2005 and will be live from spring 2006. As part of this, a new version of the 'Pedalling Ahead' cycling strategy document is being written. I attach the latest draft version of this for your review and comments. I am very keen that this strategy includes your comments and would welcome any feedback you wish to provide. This will be an agenda item at our meeting in a few weeks time, but please contact me at any time if you wish to discuss it.

I look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks. Again, please contact me at any time if you have any questions or comments.

Yours sincerely,Philip KingCounty Council Cycling Officer01243 777353
