We would like WSCC to convert one carriageway lane to become a cycleway instead of expecting cyclists to ride on the footway.

Local Sustainable Transport Fund money is being spent adding pedestrian/cyclist toucan crossings, and converting footways into shared use.

A lot of money is being spent, and yet the space for cycling is being taken from pedestrian space rather than from motor road space. Cyclists will not gain a continuous cycleway, rather they will have a regularly-interupted route shared with a large number of pedestrians.
